The department is headed by Mr. Glen Enriquez an Economics Lecturer in the Business Department at the Independence Junior College. Prior to that he has served as a Business Lecturer in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences at the University of Belize, Toledo campus for over a decade. In that capacity, he delivered courses at both the associate and bachelor degree levels, including Small Business Management, Socioeconomic Development, Marketing, International Business, and Financial Management . He currently holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Sustainable Development from Galen University and a B.Sc. in Business Management from Valdosta State University, Valdosta GA, USA. His main interests are in community development and socioeconomic strategy and planning. Mr. Enriquez has also been commissioned as a consultant for various development agencies including: United Nations Development Program, European Union, Interamerican Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank.
